I tried the live rear fender idea on my custom Honda with similar setup. I tried a number of different variations, and I bent the fender a couple of times on bumps. Very important to have the fender strongly secured. I eventually changed to a non-live rear fender.
Hello Roof! As soon as you removed the timing gear cover it is easy to see just how simple the timing gears were/are on the old 1984 - 1998 "Evolution" crankcase bottom end; Just the crankshaft gear driving the oil pump worm, the single camshaft gear with its 4 cams in one shaft, also driving crankshaft breather gear! Nothing more! Utter simplicity, compared to the highly expensive, vastly over-complicated, gear+chain mix for the; "Twin-Cam" engine!! The old; "Dual Fire Ignition" (like my 1996 Honda CMX250C Rebel) also has a lot going for it in the; "simplicity department"...LOL...! Happy New 2023 Year all...and take care, everyone!....😊....😊....!

I was first a big fan of the W650, always disliked Harleys due to the culture attached to the brand, but the shovel has grown on me, and now I cant decide which one to buy next, the w650 or a shovelhead. I have a guzzi 1100 right now, maybe I will have 3 bikes :) the FENDER is perfect in silver, please dont paint it! the bike really looks perfect, better than all the try hard pretentious choppers or chromed up fat harleys with 2inch handlebars.
